So Donna, Where is the sodium of 2200 coming from if NOT from the sauce, I know that chicken broth can be like 450 mgs of sodium, and the rest is basically vegs???

Oh thanks for the article, Donna, yes I am trying to lose weight, but the article said that adults without health problems, that are healthy can eat 2300 mgs of sodium, but that is your daily dose for the day, lol that is WHY I stopped putting salt on my foods, 32 years ago, because we get so much sodium in the things that we eat, I don't really think that we NEED SODIUM, and if we didn't eat frozen, cannned or packaged liquids, like the chicken broth, and ate fresh, we would STILL get sodium in cheese, and other things that need to be refrigerated, I use pepper , garlic and onion POWDERS instead, because it DOES make you retain water and gain weight, ha thanks

Thanks Donna and Chef Heather, I have never used Hoison sauce before, so I have no clue the amt of sodium wow that IS A LOT, lol thanks

I just found out that quinoa is a better choice of GOOD CARBS, along with millet, spelt, and couscous rice. I also was told from a nutritionist that wheat bread is NOT that good for you, its better to buy the SPROUTED GRAIN breads and also, instead of using canola oil, its better to use coconut oil

Actually I was told that people from india eat proteins for breakfast beans or rice and chees eand that is supposed to actually be BETTER for you, than carbs or anythiing else? They say that you will lose MORE weight when you eat like this, but yes its SO HARD, because you are so used to cereal, but you could have oatmeal or breakfast things, beans, all that seems like dinner or lunch food, hard to switch or get your body to eat those kind of foods for breakfast ha

Thanks Leslie, I like that idea about the beans and cheese quesadillas, I will have to try that thanks !!!

Could you use cottage cheese instead of the half and half and maybe split it with fat free milk??? Am getting away from the creams too fattening and I also use fat free milk with all my homemade soups too and use chicken broth but then you have tons of sodium too, but not as much as you would buy if you bought canned and no perservatives, have to post some homeade soups, have broccoli cheese, tomato and a delicious sweet potato soup, so easy to make, just cook 3 medium sized sweet potatoes for 20 minutes, then unskin them, they will peel off, and then blend in the blender with a cup of chicken broth, then add them back to the pot and add a cup or 2 of milk and pepper and garlic powder and pepper and to taste, comes out so good, !!!

Very LOW SODIUM? how much is 1 PORTION though, a 1/16 of a slice, how many servings is the quiche? I love broccoli or spinich quiche but it has so much sodium at the store and so much fat. I can'tt believe only 3 grams of fat with half and half? are you sure??? let me know ok ? thanks

My mom also had a GREAT COOL dessert that you will LOVE!!! My mom was a chef and made EVERYTHING from scratch, lol and this is a yellow cake, make from the directions and cool , then get LIME JELLO and make it and then poke holes all in the cake on top and pour the jello over the cake and then chill, eat the next day with a dollop of fat-free whipped cream, so MOIST !

My mom made the BEST FRUIT salad with a TWIST !
2 bananas
1/2 glass of those cherries, (optional)
2 small cans of the manderan oranges
1 cup marshmellow
1 cup walnuts
2 apples, cut up in chunks
and 1 cup cooked rice (thats the twist) you can also substitute those tiny tiny cooked round pasta with little holes in them, don't know the name, someone made it with that and it tasted like the consistancy of tapioca if you like that instead, and you pour sugar over the rice to sweeten it, not sure how muchMix everything together except the marshmellow last with the whipped cream , fold those in and CHILL , OH MY GOODNESS SO GOOD !!!!
