How long do you cook the kale? I have never "cooked" it, just thrown it in soup for the last 5 min. or so.

Hi Anonymous! You are right that the kale will be cooked when boiled for about 5 minutes. I have edited the recipe to be more clear regarding this information. Regarding the leeks, 2 large leeks will yield approximately 2 cups once chopped. If you can't find leeks an equal substitute would be 1 large white onion.

Hi Heather! This recipe is calling for a 1/2 cup of pesto (not 12 cups). I see a 1/2 cup listed in both the ingredient list and recipe directions.

can the cream be substituted with half and half?

@Anonymous- Yes, half and half, milk, even sour cream or Greek yogurt (or combining any of these substitutes) will work as a substitute for the heavy cream in this recipe.
