Hi Anonymous! Yes, salmon could certainly be substituted for the tilapia in this recipe. To cook the salmon to a medium-rare to a medium only cook for 3-4 minutes per side.

My husband and I thought this was a great recipe!

Made this last night for the family and they really liked it. I used more fish because we are pretty hearty eaters here. I should have upped the lemon zest and lime juice to accommodate it but overall the flavor was great and it got a 4 out of 5 stars from the family. Next time I think Ill cook the mushrooms separately so the fish doesn't break up so easily. Otherwise it was easy to cook according to my 10 year old who helped make dinner. Thanks!

I think the 6 hour cook time is too long. chicken was very dry. other than that taste was great.
-
Didn't care for it. A bit dry and bland. All the cheese melted out of the chicken. Disappointing.
-
Just a reminder that all raw meat should be seared before putting it in the crock pot. Otherwise it will dry out. Even the fattiest meats will dry out if not seared on all sides.
