Made this tonight for my "diehard" meatloaf fans and THEY LOVED it. Went back for seconds even! The only thing mentioned was it seemed to be "missing" a sauce. However, I can remedy that in the future. Hello, Bulghur! I will be using this a lot more in the future as a binding ingredient for g/f meals. Keeping this recipe on file.

Usually, I am the only one that really like alfredo in my family, but my husband LOVED the taste - it wasn't bland at all. And my 4 year old son ate it right up! We will definitely add this to our list of recipes. It was also easy to make - my husband (who never cooks) made it and it was great.

I use a very similar recipe with the following changes; first, the 1 and 1/4 cup of water is replaced with chicken stock for more flavor. all seasoning and juices are doubled in quantity, plus add 2 tsp red wine vinegar to make up the sauce whisked together. One chopped red bell pepper and 8 diced green onions are added to the corn and beans BUT only one can of drained rinsed black beans not two. Then toss in the prepared couscous to finish. I love this salad hot warm and cold! I encourage everyone to try it and play with the quantities to make it exactly right for your taste!

originalFrozen lobster tails, mushrooms, butter, salt, black pepper, paprika, all purpose flour, and heavy cream. In 1 cookbook-
This recipe is not quite right. First the sherry amount is missing from ingredients, I used 2 tbsp after researching. Second my sauce was waaaay too thick and it broke. I noticed a lot of Thermidor recipes out there include egg, not sure if that would help but 4 tbsp of flour was too much either way. Sauce was grainy, wouldn't coat the fettuccine I served with it and just a mess. Only redeeming thing here is it still had an awesome flavor. Even so, spent way too much on expensive lobster to waste it on this recipe, do not suggest until its tweeked. Since this is the very first time a FOTT recipe has disappointed, I'm letting it pass but don't recommend this one to others for now.

I toast the pasta till just starting to get golden, then add the rice so that can too and the noodles get a little darker. Then add the liquid and spices. I also added about a 1/2 tsp of parsley to make it look pretty! Yummy!!! Family favorite! Oh and I use about 1/4 of the butter and a splash of olive oil. Heart healthier!!! :)
-
Oh and by toast the pasta, I put the butter and olive oil in the pan to warm and then add the pasta. :)
