Ingredients

  • 1 (medium) potatoes, cut into large chunks
  • 1 crab boil seasoning
  • 1/2 (pound) smoked sausage, cut into bite size pieces
  • 1/2 (pound) shrimp
  • 4 (whole) ears of corn

Directions

  1. In a large pot, add 1 gallon of water and generously salt. Cook potatoes until done and remove from pot. (about 10 minutes)
  2. Add crab boil seasoning and sausage cut in small pieces. Bring to boil 5 minutes, then add shrimp, corn and potatoes. Bring back to boil for 10 minutes. Cut heat off and let stand for 15 minutes.
  3. Optional: Lobster, king crab legs and/or fresh crab may be added.

    if you make it shown in the recipe it will too salty. I suggest cooking the potatoes in the water with crab boil seasoning (its loaded with salt). last thing the shrimp over cook this way, add them after the corn cooks then remove from heat and let stand 10 minutes.

    I didn't change anything except I used smoked turkey sausage. It was amazing, we all loved it. MY husband ate 3 portions i think. What can appeal to a man more than corn on the cob, sausage and shrimp?

    This is spicy yes! It is so good!! Very similar to the crab pots at Joes Crab Shack. I omitted the salt in the water knowing that the seasoning is salty.
