Ingredients

  • 1 (medium) onion, finely sliced
  • 3 (tablespoon) vegetable oil
  • 4 (5-6 ounce) cube steaks
  • 2 (tablespoon) flour
  • 1/2 (cup) sour cream
  • 1 (8.0 ounce container) mushrooms sliced
  • 1 (pound) cooked egg noodles to serve with
  • 1/2 (cup) heavy cream
  • Pinch (to taste) salt and black pepper

Directions

  1. Saute onion and mushrooms in 1 tablespoon oil in skillet for 10 minutes. Remove from skillet. Add 2 tablespoons oil and heat. Place flour in shallow bowl and season with salt and pepper. Coat steaks with flour. Place in skillet, cook over medium heat for 4 minutes on each side. Place steaks on warm plates.
  2. Drain drippings. Add sauteed onions, mushrooms, heavy cream and sour cream to skillet. Heat to serving temperature. Taste and adjust seasoning. Serve with steak over buttered egg noodles.

    good! I did add about a cup of milk and 1/4 more sour cream. a little beef bullion and salt n pepper to sauce. will make this again.

    I would double the sauce. Noodles were kind of dry.
