Ingredients

  • 2 (cup) egg noodles, cooked according to package directions
  • 1 (medium) onion, chopped
  • 1/2 (medium) green pepper, chopped
  • 3 (clove) garlic, minced
  • 2 (tablespoon) butter
  • 2 (tablespoon) flour
  • 1 (cup) milk
  • 4 (whole) veggie sausage patties
  • (to taste) salt and pepper
  • 1/2 (cup) cheddar cheese

Directions

  1. While egg noodles are cooking, saute onion, green pepper, and garlic in butter.
  2. Sprinkle with flour.
  3. Slowly stir in milk and cheese; cook until thickened.
  4. Add veggie patties, break up in sauce. Add salt and pepper.
  5. Drain egg noodles in a colander and add to sauce and serve.

    Add 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese to the sauce to make a cheese sauce.

    Thanks Chef Heather. I couldn't figure out how to edit it after submitting it. The sauce would also be good on rice, biscuits or toast. I would have, also, added about a 1/2 cup of sliced fresh mushrooms if I had had them. It was pretty yummy. This site is a lot of fun. It makes menu planning really easy.
