I keep going back to this as an easy tasty cheap meal. And...it's yummy as leftovers for the work day. :)

I substituted crushed tomatoes and a 4oz can of green chilies for the diced tomatoes as my family does not like tomato chunks. I put all ingredients in a ziploc bag the night before and transferred to the crockpot the next day. Served with chips, shredded cheese, and sour cream. Delicious!

Awesome soup! Great with ground turkey. It was already pretty spicy (and I like spice), but for my kids, I did not add diced tomatoes with green chiles, I used regular diced tomatoes. I also used a can of black beans and not the Mexican chili beans because I didn't have any. Tasted stellar!

OK tasting, but had an off-taste from all the canned perservatives (?). VEry acidic undertones.

@Anonymous, that's really an impressive achievement--good for you, and good luck with the rest of your weight loss! I do apologize that there's not nutritional information available for all of our recipes. This particular one is a user-added recipes, and unfortunately, since we have so many users and everyone's allowed to share recipes, it's probably inevitable that there will be some recipes that haven't been evaluated yet. That said, if you have some specific questions, one of our chefs might be able to offer some input, especially in terms of suggesting spice blend replacements for the packaged flavorings in the original recipe, since those can often be higher in sodium, etc. Please do let us know if you have a specific concern regarding this recipe.

This recipe was delicious, and got instant love from the hubby. I was told I couldn't let this recipe disappear, and he wouldn't be opposed to eating 4 more bowls right then. That's a winner!

My husband and I absolutely loved this soup! The kids, on the other hand, thought it was too spicy. I knew my kids would not like the green chilies and tomatoes, so I used a can of mexican stewed tomatoes instead. I also added a little bit of tomato juice to it and used a whole pound of ground beef. What I am going to do next time is cut down on the amount of taco seasoning for the kids' sake. Other than that, this recipe was awesome ;-)

    Yummy!!
If you want to lower the sodium use the lower sodium taco seasoning..and only one ranch seasoning package if you are making a larger pot. Left overs of this is great!

Delicious! I made this for my family including toddlers and so toned down the spices by adding dark red beans instead of the Chilli beans, diced tomatoes without green chiles, and I made my own ranch dressing mix to not have msg in the food. It was a hit! My 4 year old wanted seconds! :)
