I don't know why the butter is used. if there is a fat the really needs to be used I think olive oil is a better choice. overall pretty good. I didnt need to use any butter as recipe called for.I also didn't use onions as there's two with allergies to them. and I added other seasons.

Good choice. very easy. My family prefers the ground beef, but I cheat and use 1/2 beef and 1/2 turkey.

That's a great way to cut the fat from using all beef.

I used Italian style ground turkey and it was awesome! It added some extra kick to the meal...I will be making this again for sure!

Tomato sauce and a few seasonings, like Italian herbs and garlic (fresh or powdered), works as well as commercial spaghetti sauce and cuts down on lots of additives. The addition of a few veggies, fresh or frozen, makes it really special and delicious. I prefer to use organic.

@Simayanan, I always keeps several cans of crushed tomatoes in my pantry for just such a use. If you sweat 1/2 of a small diced onion with 2-3 crushed garlic cloves and add in a can of crushed tomatoes or tomato sauce you'll have a great homemade sauce! I would add 1 t. of Italian seasoning, 1/2 t. oregano and some basil. A splash of lemon juice or white wine would brighten the flavor, too.
