Yum yum! Try adding some chopped green bell peppers for a little extra flavor. Make sure to cook it long enough so it softens up a bit though!

Has anyone tried making this vegetarian?

I saw a Rachel Ray show once on chicken sloppy joes, and she did two things I tried: extra virgin olive oil and cheese for waffle fries - but we used the melted cheese as a bonus on top of the sloppy joes!

    we love this recipe!

I just saw this in the email, I don't usually serve sloppy joes - but this one looks healthy (healthier?) Is there an organic worcestershire sauce anyone knows about?

@Karla~ Hi I’m Chef Heather from Food on the Table. Some great ways to turn this Chicken Sloppy Joe recipe into a vegetarian option is to use meat substitutes such as tofu, seitan, or tempeh in place of the chicken. Also portabella mushrooms have a rich meaty flavor and would also work nicely in this recipe.

@Jess~ There are several organic Worcestershire sauces on the market. Your typical grocery store might only carry one brand so try a specialty store. You can also order several organic brands online. I haven’t personally tried any of these brands but here are a few suggestions to get you started: Annie's Naturals Organic Worcestershire or Wizard’s Organic Worcestershire Sauce.

@Matt and Noeme~ both of your suggestions are great! Adding extra veggies is always a great way to make recipes healthier and more filling. And really, who doesn’t love anything covered in cheese!

Yum! Spicy from the sauce I used I guess. I didn't have ketchup so I used pizza sauce and a little brown sugar. Used one scallion at the end instead of onion.

Excellent...even my picky eaters had seconds! I used ground turkey instead, plus I cooked up and chopped two handfuls of fresh baby spinach leaves and tossed that in the mix. I have 3 young sons, and they all loved it!

These were great! I snuck in both green pepper and spinach per the comments above. I used ciabatta and my husband referred to them as "fancy" sloppy joes. We will definitely have these again.
