Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 (pound) boneless pork shoulder butt
  • 2 (cup) water
  • 1 (teaspoon) each salt and black pepper
  • 2 (whole) stalk, celery, cut up
  • 2 (whole) carrot, peeled and sliced

Directions

  1. Place pork in crockpot. Season with salt and pepper. Add water and vegetables.
  2. Cover and cook on LOW heat for 6 to 8 hours or on HIGH for 3 to 4 hours. Drain and serve.

    Gosh, I haven't thought of cottage ham in years, but for us it was always a pork shoulder that was smoked and cured. I can see why the dish might be bland if you had fresh ham, though.
