The Better Way To Plan Meals And Save Money

If I'm frying something in a substantial amount of oil, can I reuse it later for something else? Even I'm doing something like fish the first time around?

You can reuse it, but there are a couple things you should know. First, if you're cooking something that's leaving lots of little food particles in the oil, you'll be best off straining your oil through a fine sieve or cheesecloth after it's cooled. A lot of people don't, and those particles will blacken and burn pretty quickly next time around, and you might start getting an acrid burning smell, too. This is also because reusing the oil reduces its smoke point, so things can get a little tricky when the smoke point starts getting close to your frying temperature...
