How do I Edit a recipe I have entered?

I want to reformat and add some details to the recipe I entered, how do I do this? Thanks! Fun site!

LaTige, the only way right now is to e-mail us so our chefs can make the edit for you. However, if you want to add some details, you can go to the recipe (in your personal recipes) and add detail by adding comments.

  • I love the idea for this website. I think it's going to be great once you can edit your recipes. As of now, the site's not functional enough. Reformatting and tweaking a recipe to what you've posted is very important. Even though I've created an account, I can't really recommend or use this site the way I'd like to until that's functional. It's a considerable amount of work to copy your recipes on here. I don't want to clutter my recipe with a bunch of footnotes in the comments section. It becomes too cluttery.

We absolutely understand this, and actually, having the ability for users to edit their own recipes is a goal, and we're also looking into making it easier and more convenient for everyone to add recipes from other source, so we hope you'll check back for updates in our capabilities!

Any news on when this feature might be coming? I just joined and love the integration with my Android device, but sometimes when I enter ingredients, they get put into the 'unknown' category. Maybe some real-time ajax validation would be in order -- or allow me to pick a category for each recipe line item to show up in.

For example, if I put "3/4 cup Chicken, Shredded" or if I put "3/4 cup Shredded Chicken" either one ends up in "Unknown"

Also the ability to enter the number of servings and time to prepare would be nice (and should be really easy to add)

Chadwick, thanks for the input. We've had so many upgrades recently that unfortunately, we've lost some of the features we actually used to have (the portion adjustment being one of them). That will definitely be coming back, though, as soon as possible. I'll be sure to pass your comments about 'unknown' ingredients along, too.

How do I delete recipes on my profile? I have multiple copies of just one recipe. This has happened to me about three times and they are all still there, what can I do?

I am surprised to find out that I can't edit. I thought I just save it as draft and can't change now. In that case, how to delete it?

I'm trying to edit my recipes from the computer. I found it was simple enough from my ipad or iphone, but it is much easier to type, copy, and paste on a computer and I would rather not go back and forth between computer and ipad. Any idea if this is feature is coming to the comp?

Yes, adding and editing recipes needs to improve. I'd like to be able to use this app more but it's limiting. Maybe if there's a way to log into other recipe sites where we store recipes? If I could log into my Allrecipes.com Recipe Box for example, it would make it much simpler. Any plans to integrate with other sites? Or perhaps have a recipe clipper function like Ziplist?
