Why is mexican food so fattening?

We love to eat out and make Mexican. But m afraid to count the calories afterwards. Why is it that Mexican cuisine has to be so fattening?

It isnt actually. Yes it may when you go out to eat if the resturant uses lard, hydrogenated oils, ect. Seriously if you make it from scratch its not that bad at all. The easiest foods to make off the top of my head are salso, pico, refried beans, the steak! the hamburger and chicken. And thats usually what happens when you eat out. So give making it at home a try. You might have fun!

That's absolutely true. And if you search for interior Mexican recipes, you may well stumble upon some dishes you never expected, and find some great new flavor combinations that can still be done in a very healthy way.
