A simple date night supper?

Filed under: Food on the Table

Any ideas for something simple but really good for a guy with not much cooking experience to make for a date?

It depends on whether or not she has allergies or dislikes (seafood, mushrooms, etc). I have a couple easy recipes that you could make, but it does help for you to ask if there's anything she's allergic to or absolutely can't stand.

She's not a fussy eater at all, and there are no allergies to worry about. Thanks!

Ok, in that case I would consider the shrimp and feta cheese pasta recipe that is featured on this site. I just made it myself last night for the first time and it was great! Comes together really fast, great taste, and best of all it looks impressive! You will be able to see from the comments that everyone who tried it loved it too! http://www.foodonthetable.com/recipes/1693-shrimp-and-feta-cheese-pasta

Anything from the heart. Nothing a girl loves better (besides her not doing the dishes) then cooking dinner lol. What are you comfy cooking? Id have to suggest speghetti with a tomatoe sauce and a good wine maybe some garlic bread and a salad if you feel like going all bunny lol. Keep it simple and enjoy!

This is true. It was years ago, but I still remember how great it was to be surprised one night by a guy who'd made tomato sauce from scratch along with pasta and a Tuscan soup. Simple, but delicious. (And I didn't even know he was planning on cooking for me!)

Thanks for the ideas. I made some pasta and sausage and made a sauce from lots of garlic roasted in olive oil. Next time will probably go for something with less garlic, you know?
