What’s Labor Day without a grill?  The good folks at UL (Underwriters Laboratories) sent me some grilling tips.  Have you heard of UL?  They’re the ones who test everything for product safety.  Look at any appliance, and you’ll see they’re stamp of approval.  Here’s what they recommend:

  • Keep grills at a safe distance, at least 10 feet from any structure
  • Never use gasoline or kerosene to light a charcoal fire because both can cause an explosion.

Ok, I’ve done my good deed for the day cautioning about grill safety!  Here’s the meal plan.

Black Beans and Pork Chops

  • Monday:   BBQ Grilled Chicken with potato salad
You guessed it.  It’s Labor Day, so we have to grill out!
  • Tuesday:  Brat N Tot Bake with salad
How could you not select a recipe with a name like this?  I’m intrigued because I love brats and tots.
  • Wednesday:  Chicken and Broccoli Stir Fry
Ready in 25 minutes with lots of vegetables!  Perfect one dish dinner.
  • Thursday: Leftovers
    Smorgasbord of leftovers.
  • Friday:  Black Bean Smothered Pork Chops with steamed broccoli
  • Saturday:  Football Night
Lots of food at the football game, so we’ll graze.
  • Sunday:  Tilapia Scaloppine with sauteed squash
