When I was growing up, one of my mom’s go-to recipes was the Shake N’ Bake dinner. This do-it-yourself Shake N’ Bake recipe has the benefit of being less expensive than buying the actual product. Plus, you get crispy chicken drumsticks without having to fry anything! Drumsticks are on sale at my local store this week, so that means this recipes costs $3.27, or less than $1 per serving!
8 Chicken Drumsticks ($1.54)
1 1/2 cups Breadcrumbs ($0.74)
1/4 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese ($0.75)
2 tbsp Fresh Parsley, minced ($0.10)
1/4 tsp Garlic Powder ($0.03)
1/8 tsp Pepper ($0.02)
1/3 cup Milk ($0.09)
Rinse chicken with cold water, and pat dry. Combine bread crumbs and other ingredients (except milk), stirring well. Dip drumsticks in skim milk. Dredge in breadcrumb mixture, coating well. Place drumsticks in a 10×6x2″ baking dish sprayed with Pam. Bake at 350 deg F for 1 hour or till tender.
